MINSK: A trade delegation from the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI), currently visiting the Republic of Belarus, paid a visit to the International Agro-Industrial Exhibition "Belagro 2026", which opened on Tuesday in the city of Minsk.


The delegation members emphasised the importance of this visit, which will contribute to exploring opportunities for establishing strategic partnerships in the agricultural sector and food industries. It also provides insights into the latest technologies and solutions used in production, manufacturing, packaging and storage processes, as well as transferring knowledge and expertise and benefiting from advanced experiences in developing these sectors and related industries.


They pointed out the importance of discussing joint investment opportunities and localising certain advanced industrial technologies to support the enhancement of food security and increase the added value of food products in the Sultanate of Oman.


Naif bin Hamed Fadel, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the OCCI Branch in Dhofar Governorate, stated that this visit to the "Belagro 2026" exhibition represents an opportunity to learn about the latest progress achieved by the Republic of Belarus in the fields of food security and food industries.


He added that the visit enables the trade delegation to transfer several ideas for commercial and industrial projects to be established in the Sultanate of Oman and attract companies from the Republic of Belarus to engage in joint investment projects.


For his part, Saud bin Ahmed al Nahari, Board Member of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said that the visit allowed the delegation to learn about the wide variety of food industries and agricultural products, as well as the latest equipment dedicated to the agricultural sector. He expressed his hope that this visit would contribute to increasing cooperation opportunities with the Belarusian side and establishing commercial and industrial partnerships in the coming period.


On his part, Ibrahim bin Abdullah al Hosni, Board Member of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, highlighted the significance of this visit to the exhibition, which features the participation of many local Belarusian companies operating in the field of food security and the manufacturing of equipment and machinery for large farms.


He noted that there are Omani companies participating in the exhibition, which allows visitors and investors from Belarus to learn about Omani industries and agricultural products, opening up horizons for establishing joint investment projects.


Shaikh Salim bin Ahmed Qatan, CEO of Evergreen Gulf Recycling Hub, explained that the OCCI trade delegation's visit to the "Belagro 2026" exhibition contributes to developing economic and investment relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Belarus, maximising the delegation's benefit from the investment opportunities offered by the exhibition.


He stated that the exhibition allows visitors to become acquainted with the progress in manufacturing and the technology used in the agricultural field, alongside the possibility of bringing Belarusian projects and partnerships to the Sultanate of Oman. - ONA
